Workphone Fair Use Policy
Last updated: May 8, 2025
Your Workphone Service is provided by Workphone, including its affiliates, assigns, and agents (“Workphone,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). We reserve the right to periodically review usage patterns and behaviors—including voice, text, and data activity—to ensure compliance with this Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”). If we determine, in our sole discretion, that your usage violates this AUP or is otherwise abusive or unreasonable, we may take corrective action, including terminating or modifying your Service.
Workphone provides mobile phone service for startups, small businesses, and entrepreneurs. Our plans are designed to support typical business communication, not for high-volume commercial uses, persistent automation, or misuse of mobile infrastructure.
Permitted Use
Your Workphone Service is intended for standard business-related communications, such as:
Traditional voice calls between individuals
Business SMS/MMS communication with clients, vendors, or teammates
Limited outbound campaigns aligned with lawful business outreach
Mobile data use on your registered Workphone device for productivity applications
Prohibited Use
We consider your use of Workphone to be unreasonable or abusive and subject to action, including termination, if you do any of the following (determined at our sole discretion):
Resell, rebrand, or commercially exploit your Workphone plan for third-party use
Route calls or messages primarily for outbound traffic without normal inbound behavior
Use Workphone outside of the U.S. for prolonged periods or as a primary international service
Engage in high-volume marketing, telemarketing, or robocalling without consent
Use your Workphone plan as a substitute for a call center or SIP trunking system
Employ auto-dialers, mass texting tools, or continuous message bots
Send bulk, unsolicited, or deceptive communications
Run servers, surveillance feeds, or continuous data feeds through your Workphone device
Use Workphone as a proxy for web hosting, P2P file sharing, or crypto mining
Manipulate caller ID, mask origin, or spoof numbers
Transfer, clone, or tamper with your device or SIM to bypass account controls
Use Workphone in a way that could degrade network performance for others
Fair Use Policy
To maintain high service quality, we may monitor aggregate usage. “Excessive use” includes but is not limited to:
Voice minutes or SMS volumes that materially exceed typical small business use
Mobile data usage that suggests streaming, server use, or background sync abuse
Continuous or repetitive call forwarding or connection to voicemail or bots
Behavior indicating your account is used for non-human or non-business activity
We may contact you if we detect anomalies and reserve the right to modify or suspend your Service accordingly.
Lawful Use Only
You may use the Workphone Service only for lawful and appropriate business purposes. You may not use the Service to:
Harass, defraud, defame, threaten, or otherwise abuse others
Commit or encourage illegal activity (fraud, phishing, IP theft, etc.)
Violate intellectual property rights or privacy laws
Interfere with our systems or other users’ access to service
Generate viruses, malware, or denial-of-service attacks
Access accounts, systems, or networks without authorization
Monitoring and Enforcement
Workphone reserves the right to:
Monitor traffic and investigate suspected violations
Block traffic or suspend accounts without notice
Disclose customer data to law enforcement in compliance with applicable laws
Collect damages and recover service fees in cases of fraud or abuse
Transfer and Tampering
You may not transfer or resell your Service or tamper with any device, firmware, SIM, or software to manipulate Service behavior. Workphone is not liable for damage, loss, or disruption resulting from unauthorized modifications.
Theft and Fraudulent Use
If you believe your Workphone Service is being stolen, misused, or accessed without authorization, you must notify us immediately in writing at support@tryworkphone.com. You are responsible for all charges until you report the issue.
Right of Termination
We may terminate your Service at any time, without prior notice, if we determine that your usage violates this AUP or any other Workphone policies. All charges become immediately due and payable upon termination for cause.
